Step Three in the Tap Water Train

The final leg of the “tap water train” is the transportation of treated water through ancient, leaking pipes which can be a source of lead contamination and other chemicals one can find in water that is not evaluated or further treated in anyway unless you use a home filtration system.

This is where antiquated pipes take the water directly to your tap—pipes which were put into the ground before the 1920s. These are pipes through which water can become exposed to lead leaching out of the pipes or to contaminants that get through cracks and holes in the pipes.

There’s little you can do about city pipes, but you can protect your self and your family by using a home water system such as the aquasana aq-4000.
